How to claim Mazda Motorsports Contingency? 

  1. Follow all program requirements outlined below.
  2. Register for the Mazda Motorsports Contingency Program.
  3. Complete Mazda Motorsports Contingency Claim Form once the official results have been published

Registration Requirements

  • Registration is required for this program and must be completed once per year and prior to the start of event you plan to compete in.

Usage Requirements

  1. Decals Requirement: YES

  5. Location:
    1. The 16 inch or 22 inch Mazda decal is to be placed on the front nose or front hood of the race car. (note: 16 inch Mazda decals will be required for the front nose/hood starting in 2019.) The 22 inch Mazda decal is to be placed on both rear fenders/quarter panels; to order the decals (color-specific), the part numbers are: 0000-10-0022-XX (The XX would be “BK” for black, “SL” for silver, “WH” for white, and “CH” for chrome; those are the only compliant colors.)
  6. Patch must be placed on the pocket area of the suit
  7. Decal and Patch availability: Decals and Patch will be provided once registered

Award Details

  • Awards are presented to 1st – 5th  place finishers based on starter requirements.
  • Awards are presented in the form of Mazda Reward Performance (RPM) Mastercard

Additional Information

  • Maximum of one (1) award per race weekend and per car may be claimed.
  • Awards will strictly be based on official race results supplied by NASA.
  • Mazda Motorsports retains the right to change the program details at any time.
  • This optional contingency program is verified by NASA and paid for by Mazda Motorsports.
  • Awards must be claimed within 30 days of event conclusion and no later than December 31, 2018.
Payout Reductions are Based on Number of Class Competitors and Timeliness of Submitting

To earn full Mazda Contingency Award payout for RACES, the Mazda competitor must finish ahead of at least four competitors. Payout reductions are applied for finishing ahead of three or fewer competitors:

  • If the Mazda competitor finishes ahead of only three class competitors, the award amount is reduced by 15%.
  • If the Mazda competitor finishes ahead of only two class competitors, the award amount is reduced by 25%.
  • If the Mazda competitor finishes ahead of only one class competitor, the award amount is reduced by 50%.
  • If the Mazda competitor does not finish ahead of any class competitors, there is no award provided.

To earn full Mazda Contingency Award payout for POINT’S CHAMPIONSHIPS, the Mazda competitor must:

  • Compete in at least 50% of the championship races for series with fewer than 18 races (i.e. 17 races or fewer)
  • Competitor must also finish ahead of at least three class competitors who competed in at least 40% of the championship races with fewer than 18 races.
  • Compete in at least 40% of the championship races for the series with 18 races or more
  • Competitor must also finish ahead of at least three class competitors who competed in at least 30% of the championship races with 18 races or more.

If the competitor does not finish ahead at least three racers who competed in at least 40% of the championship races with fewer than 18 races OR 30% with 18 races or more, then reductions are applied as follows:

  • If the Mazda competitor finishes ahead of only two class competitors who met the requirements, the award amount is reduced by 25%.
  • If the Mazda competitor finishes ahead of only one class competitor who met the requirements, the award amount is reduced by 50%.
  • If the Mazda competitor does not finish ahead of any class competitor who met the requirements, the award amount is reduced by 75.
  • Contingency request forms (along with official race results, photos and a W-9 form) must be postmarked within 45 days of the event to receive full contingency payment. If they are postmarked late by more than:
  • 45 days, payout will be reduced by 25%.
  • 90 days, payout will be reduced by 50% (in total).
  • 120 days, payout will be declined.
